LoveED Receiving Rave Reviews

With the school year well under way, it is time for parents to be hyper vigilant about what their children are being exposed to. We’re not talking necessarily about what is coming from their teachers.

It’s oftentimes their own classmates who influence your children about sexuality, love, and relationships. The average age of first exposure to pornography is 12 yrs old. That’s 6th grade. Overall statistics about pornography and youth is eye opening. Parents need to be vigilant…

…And kids deserve to know authentic sexuality, authentic love, and authentic relationships; in an age-appropriate manner. They are entitled to it.

It’s naïve to think your child’s school (Catholic or otherwise) is going to ensure your child is filled with the perfect understanding on it.

The John Paul II Renewal Center believes LoveEd is the best produced tool to assist parents with having “the talk” with their children; to ensure your child, at the appropriate age, is filled with the appropriate understanding of sexuality, love, and relationships.

LoveEd approaches these topics knowing parents are the primary educators of their children. With issues so sensitive as these, it’s even more critical to have parents part of the education process. LoveEd not only guides parents in the education, but helps parents have age-appropriate ongoing communication with their child; something that lacks in even the best Catholic households.

LoveEd has received tremendous reviews. When a parish in the Diocese of Gary (Northwest Indiana) asked for parents’ feedback after a LoveEd Level 1 (5th grade) event for the Religious Education program in the spring of 2024, they were shocked at the results:

100% of respondents agreed that:

  • It was a positive experience with their child
  • The program addressed the topics that they were “hoping to discuss with my child.”
  • They would be interested in participating in a level 2 program that goes deeper into the topic.
  • The time was used effectively.

Here is a small selection of comments we’ve received from parents after participating with their child with LoveEd:

“It’s a beautiful experience, you get to share bonding time with your daughters and talk about their bodies in a holy and Catholic way.”

“Fantastic way to start the conversation of puberty and what it means for your child in a non-embarrassing way.”

“Definitely it is a must!!!! It’ll help guide you through a conversation where God is the foremost center and explain to them in a more visual way.”

One of our favorites, though, is this one:

“As Catholic, Christian parents we have a responsibility not only to teach our children about the world and their bodies but to teach them through the lens of God’s love for them and how they can live out that love. This program does just that – it gives us the tools, language and setting to start this journey with our daughter.”

The initial feedback by the children that participate is also often very positive. Sometimes these children get emotional. Children participating in LoveEd Level 2 are sometimes already mixed up in toxic relationships and have a twisted idea of love. Just recently, in a parish in Aurora, IL, a 7th grade girl began crying because she finally was learning about the truth of sexuality, love and relationships. She realized she didn’t have to be taken advantage of by boys to be an authentic young woman. She also was emotional because she could finally have open communication with her mom on these issues. It became a healing moment for her and her mother.

This comment from a child says something too:

“It wasn’t as awkward as I expected!”

When authentic teachings on sexuality, love, and relationships is shared appropriately, it will rarely be awkward for any child because they are children of God who desire to be filled with truth, goodness, and beauty.

We want to work with you to bring LoveEd to more parishes.

Share it with your pastor, your parish RE director, and your Catholic school principal.

Don’t let another school year go by without inoculating our children on the forces intent on removing their chastity.
