The Power of Spreading LoveEd
By Jack Rigert
“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” — Nelson Mandela
“Given the current statistics surrounding child pornography, we are living in a country that is losing its soul.” — The Honorable John Adams, Northern District of Ohio, U.S. v. Cunningham,
Why are so many in the government school system, in our nations libraries, big tech and our largest corporations involved in the sexual exploitation of children? In a word, follow the money. Today the United States is the number one producer, consumer and exporter of child pornography in the world. This should tell you something about a country that is not losing its soul, but about one that already has.
Again I ask, “why are those in positions of power and authority, who should be concerned with the health and wellbeing of our children, sexually exploiting them instead? “When God is forgotten, the creature itself grows unintelligible” (Gaudium et specs, no. 36).
The secular world is not alone. Even more detestable, if that is possible, is the fact that many church leaders are either directly or indirectly complicit, many by not speaking out and allowing this these perversions to go on unchallenged.
Saint Paul wrote, “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. and no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds! (2 Cor 11:13-15).
We are living in a post-Christian world and if you’re not taking action, instead waiting for a politician or a church leader to save your children and families, you have misplaced your trust. Our trust is in Jesus Christ, and you must look deep within your own heart for the courage to act. “Either you get that, or you don’t. And if you don’t, you’re part of the problem. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you. I’m sure you’d like to help. But look, when the Titanic has struck an iceberg, and half the ship is underwater, if you are trying to figure out where to get supper once we dock in New York, you’re not helping” (After Christendom, Michael Warren Davis, pg. 14).
“Look to yourselves, that you may not lose what you have worked for, but may win a full reward. Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son. If any one comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into the house or give him any greeting; for he who greets him shares his wicked work” (2 John 8-11).
One of the main reasons we do what we do at the John Paul II Renewal Center is simple. We bring the gospel of love and truth to marriages, families, fathers, mothers, young men and women and children.
Ask yourself how many of your friends and family who have been repeatedly lied to about the very basics concerning the meaning of marriage and the family, authentic love, the true meaning of sex and sexuality, have thrown in the towel and accepted the lie?
How many young men, and increasingly young women, are addicted to pornography? Pornography is virtually sabotaging their chances to build relationships or even of finding someone to build a life with.
How many of them are anxious and depressed? How many of them are sending their children to government schools that are pushing gender ideologies? What many don’t realize is that the gender ideologies are not as lethal and toxic as the underlying pornographic themes that they are running cover for! Yes, you heard me right. Pick up any book about Gender ideologies, some targeting children as young as 5-10 years old, and more often than not they will describe sexual acts.
Today, among boys 8-17 years old, there is an almost 100% probability that they have been exposed to hard-core pornography that has robbed them of their innocence. Do you have any idea what this does to their brains, souls and hearts? I often ask young men this question, “what did you experience first? Did you hold a girl’s hand or view hard-core pornography?” So far not one I asked had held a young girl’s hand before viewing hard-core pornography. These are often violent, graphic videos. What a way to learn about human sexuality. These images are imprinted in their brains, the neuropathways are changed, they lose their innocence and become addicts, sadly they will never again see a young woman as she was created to be.
What is the solution? What can you do?
